Welcome, welcome!

Our family has been nomadic from the get-go. My husband Bret and I have called a dozen places home over our nearly nine years together, and we’ve carted our four-year-old across four cities and two continents. Now, we're in Brooklyn, and we love our amazing neighborhood so much we’ve actually just signed a second year lease. Looks like we’re settling in and settling down!

Now that we’re in it for the long haul, we are transforming our somewhat quirky apartment into the space of our dreams, and embracing all the challenges and opportunities city life has to offer. From cloth diapering at the laundromat (did I mention number 2 has joined us on our adventures?) to spray painting on the roof, we’re in it to win it.

We’re used to making our house a home – no matter if that “house” is an extended-stay hotel in Beijing or a room at my parents’ – and so are dedicated to the idea that any of those places can really be a place that improves your life. We’ve picked up tips, tricks, and a willingness to try new ways of doing things, and we figured we’d try our hand at sharing this stuff with you – so welcome to Once & Future Home!
